Gencat deliver a First Aid Responder Course for professional Drivers. The course will detail the important responsibilities of the first aider. We have created the course taking the role of the professional drivers into consideration.

The course is run over three days over two weekends. The first weekend covers two days both starting at 09.00 and finishing at 16.00. The third day is on the following Saturday again starting at 09.00 and finishing at 16.00.

The Course Covers all of the elements of first aid response, all in the context of carrying out the role of the role of the professional driver.

Supporting Drivers at the scene of an accident

You will be able to provide treatment for the purpose of preserving life or minimising the consequences of injury at the road side or in any medical emergency environment.

You will be able to identify the most common ailments that effect professional drivers in the course of their work and more importantly you will be able to assist them in receiving medical treatment where necessary.

You will learn about health and safety legislation on first aid provision. The course is certified and approved by the Health & Safety Authority.
